I have often wondered what I would be doing today if I didn't crochet. I learn how to crochet 33 years ago from my step mom. Even though I was still struggling to learn the stitches. I finally did catch on from assistance from my own mother. Who bought me the book a Beginers Guide to Crocheting. Since then my crocheting took off.
I went from making dollies, pillows and afghans. To creating face clothes, boots cuffs and so much more.
As I got older in life I started having issues with my hands. I was diagnosis with osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia 12 years ago. Which change the way I did things in my life. Even though it was a struggle I managed to cope with my pain. After all I was caring for children and for my husband who is my biggest baby. Living with chronic pain and stiffness has it challenges. Instead of me sitting there in pain I turn to crochet again.
It has brought me pain relief and stiffness is almost gone.
To me crochet has given me my life back. I turned my hobby it to a business and love what I do. I crochet every day, crocheting has many rewards. For me it has been forget about the pain as well it has me make an income to support my family.
